About the Owner

I’m Jess, the owner of Glow Fitness. I took my first pilates class in 2016 when a friend convinced me to go with her to a small studio. It was my first experience with group fitness and I immediately fell in love.

Prior to group fitness, I had a membership at a big box gym, but had no motivation to work out. I found myself doing the same few exercises every time, before quickly calling it a day and driving back home.

Once I experienced the boutique fitness atmosphere, I knew there was no going back. The feeling of working out together in a group setting, with an instructor providing the instructions, the motivation, and the appropriate challenge - made fitness fun again. Initially, I was amazed at how physical exercise could change your entire mood. Endorphins really are the best medicine. Now I rely on this philosophy. Working out no longer feels like a chore, but rather, a part of my routine that helps me feel good physically, mentally, and emotionally. Soon, I knew that inspiring others to feel the same was what I wanted to do.

Prior to opening Glow Fitness, I was a high school teacher. I used to rush home each day to get to the studio where I was a client, taking hundreds of classes over the course of four years. I began working as an instructor at two studios, teaching pilates, barre, and HIIT classes. In 2019, I completed my Stott Pilates training and certification in Manchester-by-the-Sea, Massachusetts, and first opened Glow Fitness in 2020 with humble beginnings. Now Glow Fitness is expanding in ways I never could have imagined.

I hope to inspire all of you to believe in the power of a workout — not to change the way you look — but to change the way you feel: physically, mentally, and emotionally. See you at the barre and on the mat.
